Yes, yes, I know this is a romance. But I want to talk about Nora's eldest daughter syndrome and how it hit me like a gut punch. Nora is all about tropes in romances, but doesn't realize that she fits one of the oldest in the book. The eldest parentified daughter. The connection between Nora and Libby was so special, they're so close as sisters. And yet, my heart breaks for Nora who grew up too fast to take care of her baby sister, when her baby sister no longer needs taking care of.

Now, the romance. I absolutely loved the banter between Nora and Charlie. The writing is so snappy. The push and pull of the language between Nora and Charlie is so fun. I also adore the way the relationship developed between the two of them as Nora discovered that she liked Charlie.

There were some absolutely hilarious laugh out loud moments with this book that I loved. And I loved the setting, how the small town made it feel very Hallmark movie-esque, the town hall meeting was absolutely a scene out of a Gilmore Girls episode.

I do hate seeing the miscommunication trope, that echoed throughout the book. Which is why, even with all it's great qualities, I can't give this more than 3 stars.
